Pulmonaria 'Stillingfleet Meg'
This is one of the few new Pulmonarias that is sufficiently different enough
to shout about. It appeared as a chance seedling on the nursery of
N.C.C.P.G. holder Vanessa Cook at Stillingfleet Lodge, Yorkshire and
named after her eldest daughter Megan.
Vanessa says this plant is the one that has attracted more attention
than any other in her Pulmonaria collection. Its beauty belies its
vigour and toughness! The x P. longifolia parentage means it is more
sun tolerant and is noticeable in the distinctive, sparsely silver
spotted deepest green leaves.
The prolific clustered flower heads open a clear pink and fade to a
delightful blue. The leaves have a ‘rude’ natural healthiness that last
throughout the summer and appear to shrug off mildew.
30cm, 2- 4, PD 5
