Howard Nurseries are offering new and existing customers an exclusive FREE tour around our nursery this December to learn more about bare root perennials.
This is an exciting opportunity to see first-hand our Suffolk grown Bare root (open-ground) plants and to find out more about them.
During the event we will explain more about our much sought after open-ground plants as they have so many advantages; such as healthier root systems, are cost effective (less expensive than their pot grown counterparts), easier and lower cost to transport, Environmentally friendly - as no plastic or peat used, and super easy to plant - just ensure the soil is not waterlogged or frozen. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions, meet the team, and see how we work with bare root plants.
The event will begin with tea & biscuits and an informal introduction with Christine Howard, second generation and current Managing Director and Owner of Howard Nurseries. Then it’s off for a walk around the nursery seeing our various departments & meeting the teams behind them. This is something you wouldn't even see on our open days or when you collect an order!
At Howard Nurseries we propagate the majority of our own plants; from seed, to cuttings, to weaned tissue culture plugs, and as part of the nursery tour you will get to see our propagation department. All the magic happens in our 'Cambridge' glasshouse & you will get an exclusive behind the scenes insight when you visit!
